It's Friday! Time to Dream...

May I just say that I'm very, very, very happy to announce that it's Friday. That means the start of a new weekend. And I have Monday off of work (just for fun on Valentine's Day). That makes it a 3-day-weekend for me!

My goal for the weekend is to finish the painting in our 1/2 bath - including 2 more coats of white paint on the trim and cutting in the gray wall paint around the ceiling and trim. Bonus would be getting a little decorating done too.

So, for some motivation in the decorating department, let's take a look at some great pictures from BHG's website...

1. Blue Kitchen

I love the color blue. So, why not paint your cabinets blue? What a fun way to add color to a space. The walls are very neutral to balance things out. And I love the open shelves on either side of the window - keeps things nice an airy. I'm considering getting bamboo blinds like this for my kitchen windows. Hmmm...

2. Neutral Bathroom

Wood floors, silver hardware and fixtures, and white cabinetry are contemporary touches in this dreamy bathroom. Wainscoting topped by warm khaki walls keep the room from feeling too ultra-modern. Exposed rafter beams add a warm touch. The bouquet of bright red and orange flowers add a splash of color to the neutral space, and the cabinets under the window seat maximize storage space.

3. Green Dining Room

This fresh dining room has a great green-and-yellow color scheme. The dynamic apple green walls infuse the space with color that contrasts with white ceilings and woodwork. I love the coordinating green chairs.

4. Red Foyer

In this small space, a wall-mounted console table makes a big statement. A petite bench provides a pretty place to kick off shoes. A shelf with hooks is a catchall for purses and jackets. A colorful cushion and pillows on the bench add color to the entryway in addition to the area rug.

5. Brown Living Room

Full of shape, texture, and pattern, this living room has a rich quality. The warm palette includes taupe and white on the painted walls and architectural trim, with upholstery in shades of brown and khaki. Layers of texture include bamboo blinds, a leather ottoman, and a large area rug. I adore the fireplace niche and bookshelves that add storage and a place for decor.

6. Boy's Bedroom

This is a great boy's bedroom. It's a great combination of modern and vintage. Drawers in the base of the bed store games, toys, and puzzles. Built-ins with storage make the most of the small 9 x 10-foot space. And I love the bronze star light fixture.

7. Casual Home Office

A handy U-shaped desktop fits perfectly into a corner, creating a small but functional home office. Open shelves and basket files hold lots of supplies. Built-in under a window, a padded window seat can also be used as a bed. The traditional armchair and fabric choices look so homey.

Happy dreaming this weekend!
